Bad Boy Boss: A Brother's Best Friend Baby Romance by Melissa Devenport
User review: Really good read. It does deal with domestic abuse so it might trigger some, but other than that, really good!
Donna and Drake make for a good couple. And the rest of the story had enough of everything else to keep you going to the HEA!!
The Escape Artist by Helen Fremont
User review: I wish I had the way with words that the writers of the descriptions for some of these novels have. After finishing this book up today, I went back and re-read that description, and I wonder if we were reading the same book. I didn’t find anything in here that was scorching or ultimately redempti...
Divided House (Dark Yorkshire #1) by J.M. Dalgliesh
User review: Complicated story
DI Caslin is a mess . Too much drinking , drugging and an apparent negative past have him working the night shift with an impending divorce as well . Given a missing person case he dwells on his predicaments. He continues to muddle , gets kicked off a major murder case and finds...
Against The Wind (Florida Sands Romantic Suspense, #1) by Virginia Kelly
User review: I enjoyed this book and felt the connection between the characters. Quality writing and a great story. The problem I had was that I don't feel like one week spent together at a young age was quite enough for them to both be so traumatized over not being together forever. If they'd been childhood...
Swagger and Sass (Lost Kings MC, #14.5) by Autumn Jones Lake
User review: Love the LOKI series and I’m really looking forward to getting to the downstate men and their ol ladies. Loved this Novella about Rooster and Shelby and as always Autumn writes great storylines and brilliant characters and I can’t wait to read their book rhythm of the road when it comes out.
The Education of an Idealist: A Memoir by Samantha Power
User review: good writer.
her life as an activist and journalist in Serbia is more interesting than her life in government. the behind the scenes view of government and Obama’s presidency is nice but there is a lot of rehashing what was reported. Interested in what Obama writes in his memoir
The Haunting of Rainier Asylum (The Beckoning Dead Book 2) by Ambrose Ibsen
User review: Great book
I love the way the main character frozen her knowledge of her abilities and her strength and even when she is at her lowest point she still has that little sliver of hope. I look forward to reading more of this main character and watching as she just covers more about herself and her mo...
Tara's Trials (Romance on the Oregon Trail #4) by Kathleen Ball
User review: Another great book by a wonderful author
Zander and Tara's story is wonderful. This was a sweet, clean, Christian story with suspense and romance. There is kissing and talk of marital relations but nothing descriptive. I loved seeing characters from the previous books in the series.
The Cat of the Baskervilles (A Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery #3) by Vicki Delany
User review: Fun series
I liked the characters, the premise, and the story. Good use of deductions a la Sherlock Holmes. Good reveal at the end.
Paint Me a Monster by Janie Baskin
User review: I loved this book. I have been trying to find it for ages, I can't remember enough and didn't read it recently enough to write a full (or even half) review on it, but I distinctly remember loving it and getting very teary eyed over it, which I rarely do.
The Vine Witch (Vine Witch, #1) by Luanne G. Smith
User review: If you are looking for a quick read with metaphysical aspects, magick, and kick ass women, this is a fun one. A grownup fairytale, perfect for the avid fantasy reader, Witches and those who love them, (or hate them). A book that pulls you into its world and helps you escape the everyday. You won’...
Undercover Bromance (Bromance Book Club, #2) by Lyssa Kay Adams
User review: I've been looking forward to this sequel ever since I finished reading The Bromance Book Club, and it was just as great as I hoped it would be.
This time the focus is on book club founder Mack and Thea's sister, Liv. They begin to fall for each other Liv vows to take down her serial sexual harasse...
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
User review: Not my favorite but I think that might be because I'm more drawn to fantasy and mystery than romance. The story is easy to read though and I finished it in about a week. The plot just seemed very generic. And I was disappointed how Jennifer just got literally a sentence to wrap up her storyline....
The Broken Spears: The Aztec Account of the Conquest of Mexico by Miguel León-Portilla
User review: Easily one of the most beautiful and moving selections of writings from a dying civilization. Extremely readable for the layman and unflinching in its accounts, which add not just pity for the conquered, but also much-needed nuance to a now oft-politicized event.
